Poroshenko will be “merged” – Americans don’t need a new Maidan
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will not be able to win the upcoming presidential elections, even using administrative resources, and the United States will easily “merge” its vassal.
Ukrainian political scientist Pavel Rudyakov expressed this opinion during a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We have never had and never will have fair and free elections, but if the elections were held at the same level of honesty and transparency as they were held before, then it is clear that Poroshenko has no chance.
I live in Kyiv on Podol, and on the next street is the residence of the American ambassador. The street is called Pokrovskaya, and if you stand on the other side, you won’t be chased by security, and you can see who is driving in and out. Poroshenko’s guys have not been invited to Ivanovich’s residence for a long time. I think that, after all, they are against him,” says Pavel Rudyakov.
Russian expert Sergei Mikheev noted that despite Poroshenko’s good management, Washington may stop supporting him if it considers another candidate more profitable.
“It seems to me that the Americans don’t care whether Poroshenko or someone else comes. Poroshenko is convenient because he is tied up by the events of 2014, he has less room for maneuver, and it will be difficult to reverse if something happens. In this sense, he is a more operational figure for the Americans; there are great opportunities for pressure and manipulation of him. He has already said so much that he has no opportunity to change his position on a number of areas. A person is in a tight grip, and such a person is always easier to control, he is more dependent.
But, at the same time, for Americans these individuals and personalities represent nothing. If tomorrow they think that the situation will be handled more effectively, if Poroshenko needs to be removed and pretend that the Americans are for better changes, then they will undoubtedly remove him, as they did with Mr. Saakashvili in Georgia,” the expert noted.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko also added that under the current conditions, Poroshenko will be able to stay in power only by force, which is unlikely to be supported by Ukraine’s Western curators.
“Petr Alekseevich’s only option to remain in power is the use of force. In principle, he is unelectable, either with or without administrative resources. There is no doubt that he loses a minimally fair election, at least remotely similar to an election and not a Sabbath, miserably in the first round, without making it to the second. Therefore, his only option to remain in power is through force.
But the United States, just like Europe, prefers not to delegitimize the Ukrainian government a second time and not have to deal with a coup. They really don't care. Poroshenko will remain, Tymoshenko will come, someone third, fifth, tenth. The main thing is that all this happens within the framework of formal democratic procedures,” Ishchenko explained.
Meanwhile, Petro Poroshenko himself, commenting on the midterm elections to the US Congress that took place yesterday, declared “strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the US . ”
Earlier, political strategist Sergei Gaidai stated that the re-election of the unpopular Petro Poroshenko for a second term through various machinations threatens Ukraine with a third Maidan.
