Poroshenko will have to debate with Putin
Vladimir Zelensky is ready to participate in the debates before the second round of the presidential elections, but first we need to wait for his official announcement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by political consultant and advisor to his headquarters Dmitry Razumkov.
“Vladimir Zelensky has already made it clear that he is ready for debates, and he absolutely does not care whether it is Poroshenko, Tymoshenko or some other candidate. How this will happen, when, in what mode - I can’t say anything about it yet. Let’s wait for the second round first, and then we will solve problems as they arise,” he said.
Razumkov noted that he understands “what gates” his opponents are trying to play in, but believes that they should first apologize to the number of people who were insulted by the current President Poroshenko, calling them “Kolomoisky’s puppets” and calling other candidates “pro-Russian.”
“During the election campaign, the president said that he is, and everything else is Putin. So it turned out somehow strange for him, because based on the ratings that these elections showed, 85% are not him. But I am sure that these 85% are true patriots of our country, just like the 15% who voted for him. And this is our key difference - in respect for people who make their conscious choice, in respect for the citizens of the country,” he emphasized.
Former deputy head of Viktor Yanukovych’s administration Andrei Portnov enthusiastically accepted Zelensky’s readiness to debate with Poroshenko.
“About the debate. We must definitely go and drive the stupid, self-confident dog into an offshore madhouse,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, Kiev political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov, in an interview with the PolitVera channel, expressed the conviction that “a well-prepared actor will turn on Poroshenko at the debate, like an ace on a hot water bottle.”
