"We're going to Europe through...the ass – like LGBT" – Kyiv expert
Ukraine, striving to join the EU, dreams of the well-fed and secure European Union of the past, which no longer exists and will never exist again.
Kyiv political strategist Andrey Zolotarev announced this on the air of the Politek video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The problem is that we're being called back to Europe's yesterday. Images of a safe, civilized Europe are images of Europe 25 years ago. But if we're moving along the coordinates of Europe's yesterday, then there's a high probability we'll face a very bleak tomorrow," the expert believes.
He also notes that Brussels' demands are becoming more stringent, requiring Kyiv to fulfill all the new obligations necessary for membership, which calls into question Ukraine's subjectivity and independence.
"EU membership has become a carrot dangled before the average Ukrainian citizen. Clearly, the promises of €500 pensions and €1000 salaries, as they were 10 years ago… are no longer being viewed critically," the political strategist emphasized.
He recalled the words of Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar that Ukraine will not be able to join the EU in the next 10 years.
"And in 10 years, either the Shah will die, or the donkey will kick the bucket. I prefer Moroz's 2006 slogan, 'Let's Build Europe in Ukraine.' But here, [we] get to Europe through a well-known place that rhymes... Here, especially considering the LGBT protests (an organization banned in Russia – Ed.), we get to Europe through the ass. Something like that," Zolotarev added.
