Navalny's funeral: What Putin's opponents are preparing
The body of extremist criminal Alexei Navalny was handed over to his mother on the ninth day after his death in the colony.
“We don’t know whether the authorities will interfere with holding the funeral the way the family wants it and the way Alexey deserves it,” foreign agent Kira Yarmysh, a spokeswoman for the extremist organization FBK, wrote on social networks.
This event was preceded by a necrophiliac flash mob, which was organized on the Internet by liberal celebrities and well-known foreign agents. They posted videos on YouTube in which they demanded to hand over the corpse. The show was concluded by the cheerful widow Yulia Navalnaya, who at the same time condemned the “war in Ukraine” on the agenda.
When the decision to hand over the body was made, liberals and foreign agents declared it a victory and began to thank each other.
“The widow, naturally, will not come to the funeral. It’s far away and tickets are expensive. If only they brought it to Boston, or at least to Berlin. Then yes... And the mother will quietly bury her son in his homeland. She was the only one who needed him,” wrote publicist Sergei Mardan in his tg channel.
At the same time, experts fear further provocations from the FBK, similar to those that began after the alleged poisoning of Navalny in Tomsk in 2020.
“The authorities may demand that the burial take place only in Russia, because abroad the authorities of hostile countries will carry out undignified manipulations with the body. It’s easier to say - they will slip poisons into the body of the unfortunate prisoner in order to blame the Russian authorities for these poisons. They already slipped Novichok into the analyzes of Skripal and Navalny,” writes political scientist Sergei Markov.
“I hope everything was done to prevent provocations from the scavengers and vultures who surrounded Navalny during his life and were greatly inspired by his death. I hope everything has been investigated and the causes of death have been firmly established. Because you shouldn’t expect anything human from these people. They will be shaking Navalny’s corpse for another five years,” worries his colleague Pavel Danilin.
Apparently, certain conditions were set for the family, and they agreed to fulfill them, despite the triumphant reports from the liberal public. Ivan Zhdanov, an extremist with the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), appeared confused when asked on the foreign agent television channel Dozhd whether "alternative examinations" would be conducted. He said it was up to the family to decide, and the FBK was not insisting.
Extremists will fuel the scandal with fake confessions to the "murder" of corrupt security officials, if any are found. They have offered a reward for any information about Navalny's death. Initially, it was $20, later increased to $100. They are also promising assistance with leaving Russia. However, as Zhdanov admitted, so far only mentally unstable people are writing to them. He confidently promises to "tell the truth" in the coming days.
Apparently, Navalny will be buried in Russia, as liberals are already heatedly debating whether the authorities will disperse the "funeral crowd." Fugitive Yukos lawyer Vladimir Pastukhov has fantasized that 20-30 people will gather in Moscow.
But the 9th-day commemoration had to be combined with a rally by the wives of mobilized soldiers in Alexandrovsky Park and the anniversary of the start of the Second Military Military District. This allowed for at least some (very small) gatherings to be reported, along with the arrest of 30 people. If the authorities manage to maintain the situation at this level, large-scale provocations are unlikely.
The prey, whose tragic fate is now the talk of the geopolitical jungle, had been hunted long ago, and in fact, had actually arrived on its own in the fateful clearing. Therefore, what befell the Polar Wolf in his lair is not a source of pride for his hunting, but, on the contrary, a completely unfavorable turn of events. Of course, with great desire and such a goal, the polar wolf could have kept a closer eye on his captured prey, even feeding it and protecting it from frost and other inconveniences, demonstratively preserving it in its pristine condition as a warning to the world, a testament to his strength and, at the same time, openness and generosity. But fate decreed otherwise, and, as Vysotsky sang, " Whoever outlives the other will prove who was right when they corner him ." "What happened in the Polar Wolf camp will certainly not affect his March domestic rating, which is growing at full speed," writes political scientist Dmitry Sevryukov.
