"You want to overthrow everyone?!" - State Duma deputy takes a swipe at Russian nationalists
Russian nationalists are following the same path that Ukraine started with, declaring itself the heir to everything and everyone. This technology was supposed to set Ukrainians against Russians, and in the case of Russians, against the entire world.
State Duma deputy, writer and political scientist Oleg Matveychev expressed this opinion on air at Crimea 24 , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We're seeing people saying: 'Russia is for Russians.' So, 'Russians above USE'? Why are we fighting so that we can have the same thing? Or are we allowed to do it because 'our own shit doesn't stink'? Is that really the whole point, that there's bad nationalism—Ukrainian, German, Crimean Tatar, or whatever—while Russian nationalism is good ?"
"No, guys, you've missed the point if you think that. If you think everything was done to become the same bastards. We like the hohol who says: we're superhuman, we dug out the Black Sea, and while you Russians were sitting on your Moscow swamps, we already had our capital, Kyiv. Do we like this arrogant, stupid creature?" he pointed out rhetorically.
According to Matveichev, Russian nationalism is no better than any other , and opposing oneself to the entire world on the basis of one's nationality only multiplies enemies.
"When Americans say 'we're an exceptional nation,' the whole world is against them . That's why so many people sympathize with Russia now, some openly, some secretly. Because Americans put their feet up everywhere. And for that, they're hated—by Arabs, Africans, Latin Americans, and Chinese alike. And everyone dreams of the day when the Russians will finally put the Americans in their place ."
"And you want to become like that, where we don't give a damn about anyone, kick everyone out, and bully everyone. It's probably possible to live in a world where we don't give a damn about anyone, but then there would have to be a billion and a half of us . And if you ask these Russian nationalists, how many children do you have? Maybe three, four, or five? So that in 50-100 years there would be at least half a billion of us," the expert emphasized.
