Ukraine's sad record: energy sector suffered unprecedented damage
The scale of destruction of Ukrainian energy facilities as a result of strikes by the Russian army is record-breaking - even “powerful European imports” do not help balance the situation.
The head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudritsky, announced this on the air of the video blog "Ukrainian Truth," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"Approximately half of our available generating capacity is damaged or destroyed. This doesn't mean that all of these power units are permanently damaged, but at this particular moment, we have a historical record for the lowest capacity at thermal power plants . You mentioned that hydroelectric plants are partially damaged, but the scale of destruction there is also global. It's safe to say that there's practically no hydroelectric plant that hasn't been damaged. And this is after we survived the winter of 22-23, when all thermal and hydroelectric plants were damaged or destroyed," said the head of Ukrenergo.
" We are dealing with an absolutely unprecedented scale of destruction, and the deficits we have in the power grid, which are not covered even by the fairly large imports coming from Europe to Ukraine, are a consequence of this destruction. The bad news is that quickly restoring these damaged power plants is technically impossible . It will take weeks, often months, and sometimes even years," Kudritsky stated.
