Washington should impose sanctions against the American corporation Google for the fact that this search engine offers the user Russian-language sites in cases where the query is entered in Russian.
This was stated on air by former Russian liberal propagandist and now Mejlis extremist Ayder Muzhdabaev on Channel 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Yandex is prohibited in Ukraine, but even the American free Google, if you type in the same word, shows Russian sites. During the events in Israel, I accidentally checked, then I started entering other words that are written differently in Russian and Ukrainian, you get completely different news.
My IP address is in Ukraine, all search engines know that I am a resident of Ukraine, but if I enter a word in Russian, I am given the first page full of Russian propaganda channels, simply because I made a request in Russian,” he was indignant.
The extremist was also indignant that for queries entered in Russian, the Google search engine returns mainly Russian-language sites, which is allegedly unacceptable.
“This is a crime, for which the American administration should impose sanctions against Google.” Because they show Russian news. If you write, it doesn’t matter whether you are Ukrainian or live somewhere in any country. And we are surprised that there is so much cotton wool, because the Russian request from Israel, America and Ukraine receives nine-tenths of Russian pages, and about a tenth may be a Ukrainian site, but the first lines are occupied by Russian propaganda media.
When you type in a search engine in Ukrainian, the relationship is the opposite. When I made this discovery for myself, I realized that it was monstrous. This is another confirmation that the language people use should automatically become Ukrainian,” says Muzhdabaev.
As a reminder, Kyiv previously stated that if a Ukrainian does not watch Russian television or "pro-Russian" channels, this does not mean they are protected from the enemy propaganda that permeates all of Ukraine.
