Zelensky's office is waiting for Russia at the second “peace summit” to deliver an ultimatum
Ukrainian authorities do not know whether they will be ready to meet with a Russian representative on an international platform.
The correspondent reports about this "PolitNavigator", in an interview with "European Truth" (a subsidiary of the anti-Russian propaganda site "Ukrainian Truth", closely linked to the US Embassy), said the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak.
He says that Ukraine has not abandoned Zelensky’s 10-point “peace plan,” including the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces to the 1991 borders, reparations, and so on, despite the fact that the most unacceptable points for Russia at the so-called “peace summit” were not considered, and a number of leading countries either were not present or refused to sign the final declaration even in this truncated form.
The official does not yet know whether the second “summit” will take place this year.
“It will depend on how many countries support our plan. We already saw the potential at the first summit. Secondly, we clearly understand that There is no point in direct negotiations with countries. This does not give the result that Ukraine needs“, says the head of the OP.
He was immediately reminded that Ukraine had already made statements about Moscow’s participation in the second event.
“I'll explain now. But first, let me emphasize that I hope that working with countries that did not join the communiqué will lead to them supporting our plan. Because it responds to what these countries voice publicly! They all talk about the principles of the UN, about international law, about territorial integrity. And their support is important for putting pressure on the Russian Federation.
As for the participation of the aggressor country. Indeed, it is possible for a Russian representative to participate in the second Peace Summit, to whom this plan could be conveyed. But this does not mean the start of negotiations with Russia. No, that's not what we're talking about! We want even such a meeting at which this plan can be conveyed to be held not in the Ukraine-Russia format, but in the presence of all countries that supported our plan,” says Zelensky’s representative.
He was asked whether Russian President Vladimir Putin could be a representative of Russia with whom Ukraine is ready to meet.
“I think it’s very early to talk about this, who can,” the head of the Ze-office answered evasively.
The publication, in turn, noted that “this means that the answer is ‘no’ regarding a meeting with Putin,” since “it used to be said that we, in principle, would not contact him.”
“This answer is not given by me, but by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council,” Yermak again avoided a direct answer.
