The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky refused all the promises he made to the Mejlis members.
This was stated on air by the Mejlis businessman Lenur Islyamov, who in 2014 briefly held the position of deputy prime minister in Russian Crimea, on the ATR television channel, which is deprived of state funding, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
According to Islyamov, the president’s office blocks all Majlis initiatives and does not want to communicate with the leader of the group banned in the Russian Federation, Refat Chubarov.
“If we take the task itself, which exists, my opinion is that many deputies also say about this: “This is because you are in the opposition.” That is, our leaders are in the opposition. If you take these two years that we have been here, we see that the status of the commissioner for the affairs of the Crimean Tatars has been abolished.
At first they somehow flirted with him, they said write proposals, the document itself on coordinating the work of the office of the president and the Mejlis, it is also there, it is in the office of the president. But he doesn't sign. That is, he is not there. The status of the Crimean Tatar people as the indigenous people of Ukraine - Zelensky spoke about this at the very beginning... he also promised: “I will do everything if you need it.”
This is not what we, the Crimean Tatars, need. To feel like an indigenous people, we don’t need some piece of paper with this written on it, although this is also important for the generation and those people who fought for it. We need to be able to fight with this tool on international platforms. The current presidential office or the Ministry of Reintegration probably hasn’t heard about this at all.
Although, as we are told, these are international lawyers and they know international law. So, here’s a tool for you: take Mustafa Dzhemilev, use it, take Chubarov. Today, Chubarov has simply been thrown to the sidelines, he’s not even on the bench, but he’s on the sidelines,” Islyamov said.
