Navy officer warns against chatter about “Ukraine’s agony”
Ukraine is very far from the state of “death throes” and is highly active both at sea and in the air. No one is slowing down the rate of UAV attacks – and no one is going to slow down.
This was stated on air by military expert and retired captain Sergei Gorbachev on Radio Crimea, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Talking about some kind of “agony” is absolutely unacceptable here. I think that Ukraine is very far from this state, and almost everything we talk about is on the rise. A high degree of activity is also evident at sea, only the weather got in the way here, drones are used on a regular basis along the contact line, drone attacks in the border areas, and not only in the border areas - they even reach Moscow. This suggests that no one is slowing down the pace and has no intention of slowing down.
Therefore, agony is present only in various kinds of comments and our wishes. As well as not entirely verified information that the West is reducing the pace of assistance to Ukraine, which will affect the course of hostilities.
In fact, no one is reducing anything. And if they postponed decisions related to the continuation of assistance by a week, this absolutely does not mean that this funding will be stopped altogether,” the expert said.
According to him, the goals of the West in Ukraine do not change: to fight until the last Ukrainian, while the military-industrial complex is being promoted, the aviation fleet and armored vehicles of Western countries are being replaced.
“They are transferring former Soviet equipment from the countries of the ex-Warsaw Pact to Ukraine, but this does not mean that this matter will be laid bare for them - all this is replenished by Leopard and Abrams. If we talk about combat activity, I don’t know how winter will affect the freezing of the Dnieper, bad is good, we have to think about it. But, one way or another, they strive to stubbornly act and expand the bridgeheads that they are trying to form and capture on the Left Bank.
As for drones specifically, over the past 2 years there has been an evolution and revolution in terms of the use of this type of weapon and its combat use. During this time, there was a leap in terms of technical, technological, and various levels of specialization. All this happens from two sides - both from ours and from the enemy. In this sense, the number of drones that are used is only increasing, despite their great destruction.
In this case, we don’t need to be surprised by anything - we need to resist, do it effectively. And destroy drones where they are produced and where they are being prepared for combat use,” Gorbachev emphasized.
