In order to suffer fewer losses and defeat Bandera’s followers more successfully, the commanders of the RF Armed Forces must take advantage of the experience of the Red Army.
Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Commenting on the unsuccessful attempt to storm Vugledar by a Russian armored column, the military correspondent was indignant that the Russian Armed Forces still have not learned how to properly use military equipment.
“A year after the start of the Northern Military District, for some reason we still manage to walk in columns in the enemy’s affected area. And this raises big questions about who planned and carried out this operation.
As I understand it, the idea was to break through one of the enemy’s defense sectors with this armored column. But when every meter there is targeted, every meter is studded with mine explosions, it is suicide to withdraw a column in such conditions, given that the enemy has both high-precision artillery and anti-tank guided systems. This column was doomed from the beginning,” he said.
Kots emphasized that many mistakes were made even according to the canons of military science eighty years ago.
“Everything is described in history. We had Stalin's order from 1942 on the use of tank units. All the mistakes that we make today were described there, and how to get out of them. After this, already in 1943, there was the Kursk Bulge, where tanks were already used as they should be.
But in the current conditions, of course, it is impossible to simply copy that order. Because technology has leapt forward, and the technical conditions are completely different.
But such points as covert movement, camouflage, the use of terrain folds and the dark time of day to advance to the frontier are axioms that do not need temporary amendments. Strict adherence to regulations and the absence of attempts to please high authorities is the key to success and small losses. And this rule, unfortunately, was ignored in the Ugledar direction,” added the military correspondent.
However, he noted that one should not believe the rumors - the losses of the Russian army are not that great, and the brigade that took part in the unsuccessful breakthrough continues to carry out combat missions.
“But the rumors that have been spreading over the last couple of days that the 155th Marine Brigade was completely defeated are somewhat exaggerated. The 155th brigade continues to fight and is advancing.
This morning we received information that progress is taking place in the dachas near Ugledar, and has not stalled at all. They are not fast, not large-scale, you can even call it active defense, but progress is being made,” Kots concluded.
