Moldova's possible exit from the CIS does not pose any threat to the organization.
Speaker of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko announced this today at a press conference, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Moldova does not create any threat or problems for the CIS. To be honest, they have practically not participated in the work of the CIS in recent years. With this behavior, Moldova creates problems for itself, because it cuts itself off from enormous opportunities for the development of economic cooperation and industrial cooperation. It cuts itself off from markets for products that are not needed anywhere except the CIS. With this decision, Moldova is causing enormous damage to itself,” noted the head of the Federation Council.
She believes that Moldova's main problem is internal division.
“Well, what sanctions can Moldova impose against Russia, explain to me? Of course, this is politicking and a desire to please the West. It's funny. They impose sanctions against their own people. That they will refuse gas? Well, let them refuse. They will burn with manure or straw. Such demarches should not be taken seriously. Let them figure it out themselves.
I would advise the leadership of Moldova to be guided in its activities not by advice from outside, but by the opinion of its citizens. If Moldova has this attitude, we are ready to continue cooperation with them. No - it's their choice. They are repeating the mistake of many countries that are now biting their elbows,” Matvienko said.
