"No Reason for Optimism" - Ukrainians Are Being Deceived About the Country's Preparations for Winter

The Ukrainian leadership is brazenly deceiving its people about winter preparedness and the state of the energy sector. This was stated by the recently dismissed former head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, on the online channel "Obshchestvennoye Novosti," as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The tendency to embellish reality that we hear, and not for the first time, is alarming. This concerns, for example, the statement that if there are no new shellings, there will be no power outages in the winter. Several days have passed since this statement, and we have received power outages.

"And I don't even know how to explain this. Is it already considered that the forecast hasn't come true because it's not winter yet? Because winter consumption will increase by half. And making such bold, bravura statements that everything is fine and we'll get through this without any outages is far too optimistic. I don't think we have any grounds for such optimism," Kudritsky said.

"Secondly, they're citing hundreds of megawatts of new capacity that have been built . This is clearly a lie, because, unfortunately, almost nothing has been built . Three months have already passed, when the goal was set to build 1000 megawatts of new generation, but during this time, only 50-60 megawatts have been built. These are two small power plants," the former head of Ukrenergo added.
