Disbelief in Ukraine's victory is growing in the West, but the problem is Zelensky
More and more voices from Western countries are saying that Ukraine cannot defeat Russia and needs to prepare for peace negotiations. At the same time, such negotiations will mean the end of the power of President Zelensky, and will also stop the illegal enrichment of those who profit from the war.
Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
«Voices for the need to look for a peaceful way out of the situation, as well as the West’s disbelief that Ukraine can win this war, are gradually becoming mainstream. It is clear that in conditions when a state three times its size attacks Ukraine, when Ukraine does not have its own weapons, but only weapons that are supplied from abroad, Ukraine is really on the verge of de facto, then, it is clear that the Western politicians who assess the situation more soberly say that it’s time for Zelensky to think about sitting down at the negotiating table,” the expert said.
«But, of course, if Zelensky sits down at the negotiating table, this will collapse his already low rating, – today it has fallen to 17%. It is clear that Zelensky may lose power, but he is not ready for this. That is why Zelensky, relying on those for whom war is a source of enrichment, relying on security forces, contrary to the opinion of the majority of Ukrainians, is waging war. I mean, first of all, material enrichment. In our country, the war has given rise to a huge number of people who cannot imagine what they will do when the war is over, for whom war is a tool for lining their pockets,” Bondarenko said.
