In particular, over 5 years, the urban population decreased by 5,7% - to 29 million 585 thousand people, the rural population - by 7,6% - to 13 million 175,5 thousand people.
It is worth noting that the permanent population of Ukraine as of January 1, 2016 amounted to 42 million 590,9 thousand people, of which 19 million 717 thousand people were men and 22 million 873 thousand were women.
