Ukraine fears that the Russian Armed Forces are adapting to the new situation on the battlefield.
Ukraine, despite its bravura statements, was never able to seize the strategic initiative in the war with Russia.
Sergei Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Defense, told the Apostrophe TV channel about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We haven't seized the strategic initiative. Those who say so are exaggerating, whether a little or a lot," Rakhmanin said.
He added that so far there are only certain positive aspects for Ukraine.
"But there's a nuance here. War is a constant adaptation, a cycle of adaptation. As this war demonstrates, the very approximate time frame for each side to adapt to the changing nature of combat is six months," the deputy added.
According to him, if, within six months, the Russians fail to find an effective countermeasure to Ukrainian drone strikes on logistics and personnel replenishment, and the Russian economic situation worsens, then Moscow might ostensibly agree to a freeze along the front line that would be beneficial to Kiev.
“I speak very cautiously, since there is no clear, obvious evidence that this will happen,” Rakhmanin concluded.
