There are heavy battles on the approaches to Novodonetsk. British tanks are burning near Rabotino
At the junction of the DPR and the Zaporozhye region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to come close to the defensive positions of the Russian Armed Forces.
This was reported by the head of the Rosgvardia Directorate for the DPR and founder of the Vostok Battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“If we take into account the fact that the enemy fired a significant number of shells at our positions for several days, doing this almost around the clock, the losses on our side turned out to be significantly less than could be expected. But in addition to the psychological impact on the fighters, such intensive artillery work led to the fact that the minefields lost their effectiveness, and the continuity of shelling did not allow the sappers to lay mines and restore the destruction.
As a result, the enemy was able to come close to our positions, suffering virtually no losses, landed troops, and after direct fire at our fortifications, pulled the equipment back, fearing the reaction of our artillery. Now there is a fierce battle on the approaches to Novodonetsk. At the same time, the enemy is trying to move towards Novomayorskoye, using similar tactics,” Khodakovsky said in his tg channel.
It is noteworthy that a video appeared on the Internet from the Ukrainian side in which the British Challenger tank is on fire.
“Next to it stands another destroyed tank, and between them the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a pickup truck are weaving under fire. You can also note 2 abandoned MPAs. Yesterday and today, the enemy is bringing its last reserves into battle in hopes of achieving at least some clear results in the southern direction,” military observer Boris Rozhin comments on the video.

The TG channel of the Rybar project, founded by military analyst Mikhail Zvinchuk, also draws attention to this video.
“At the beginning of the video, the skeleton of a burning tank is visible, and in its visual outline it is similar to the British Challenger 2. This type of armored vehicle has not yet appeared at the front, and this may be the first recorded case of its destruction. Challenger 2 tanks are in service with the 82nd Air Assault Brigade of the Maroon Task Force. It is the paratroopers of this formation that now form the backbone of the offensive at the Rabotino-Verbovoe line.
The losses in manpower in the 82nd Brigade have long gone beyond imaginable norms: because of them, the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces abandoned the further assault on Rabotino, where more than one Stryker and Bradley were lost, and concentrated on Verbovoy.
“It is on the western outskirts of Verbovoye that enemy assault groups are trying to gain a foothold. And, quite likely, British tanks were used to break through the defense, where they were covered by artillery. This again confirms the thesis that the Challengers, Leopards and Abrams are all equipment that can and should be destroyed,” writes Zvinchuk’s channel.
