“In Donbass we will get a second endless Karabakh” – political scientist
Due to the categorical reluctance of a certain part of Ukrainian politics to compromise, the Donbass conflict is destined to go into a frozen state.
Russian political scientist Armen Gasparyan stated this during a press conference, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I don’t believe that in the near medium term we will get peace in Donbass,” the expert said. – I am inclined to believe that everything is heading towards the scenario of a frozen conflict in the region. At best, this will be the implementation of the “Moldova – Transnistria” format.
At the same time, according to Gasparyan, observing a high “degree of hysteria in certain segments of Ukrainian politicized society,” he fears that the situation in Donbass may develop according to the “Armenia-Azerbaijan” scenario.
“The conflict has been dragging on for decades – ed., blood is being shed. If Europe is now trying to say something and somehow bring (the parties - ed.) to the negotiating table, then I remind you that the Karabakh case, as well as the Transnistrian one, has not bothered anyone for many years,” added the Russian political scientist .
