Movny terror: Ukrainians are being prepared for new hemorrhoids
It seems that the current Ukrainian government sees its main task as only one thing - to make life as difficult as possible for its own fellow citizens. Moreover, to everyone - both adherents and disloyal ones at the same time. Whatever ministry or department you take, any of them comes up with new reasons for discomfort.
You don't have to go far for examples. Not only have utility bills become unaffordable for most ordinary people, but the rules for receiving subsidies have also become more complicated. The Ministry of Health has completely confused the doctor’s communication with potential and actual patients. Transport maniac Omelyan wants to force people to cross the border exclusively on foot. In general, a Ukrainian citizen must overcome any difficulties, and the government’s job is to create them everywhere and in everything, including from scratch. The Ministry of Education and Science has also taken note in this direction.

It submitted for discussion a draft of a new edition of Ukrainian spelling (pravopysa). But before we consider this stupidity, let’s admire the mechanism for introducing at the official level the idea of change in the written language. First, it was expressed by a neighbor - Minister of Foreign Affairs Klimkin. This native of the Kursk region proposed translating the language into Latin. Against the background of such an idea, any innovations from the Osvitians look balanced and moderate. In general, take what you give, otherwise it will be very bad.

A 200-page list of rules and changes was published on the ministry's website. What can you find there? For example, linguists propose using the letter "и" ( Ы ) at the beginning of words before the consonants "н" and "р" (індик – индик, ірод – ирод), at the beginning of the verb "икати" (to sing) and the noun "икавка" ( to sing).
They suggest variability in words of Greek origin with the letter "f" (kafedra – katedra, mifologiya – mіtologiya). In other words, they're trying to copy the rule from Bulgarian, where the Greek "theta" and Old Slavic "fita" unambiguously became "T." Let's be grateful they're not at least suggesting the Hebrew non-distinction of "F" and its replacement with "P" with vowel omissions! Then "Fedor" could be written as "Pdr."
The sound [j] in sound combinations [je], [ji], [ju], [ja] will always be conveyed by the letters є , ї , yu , i : Khayam instead of Khayyam , Savoy instead of Savoy , foye instead of foye.
It is suggested to write the word "пів" with nouns separately if half is meant ( пів годúни , пів Кúєва ). If "пів " and a noun form a single concept, they are written together ( пізвáхист ). And much more in that project.
Are these proposals new? In 2000, they were already put forward by a commission headed by Deputy Prime Minister Zhulinsky, but then they were rejected. They remained only in the news of the STB TV channel, where “member”, “premiere” and other neologisms on the verge of redneck appeared.

And it was not Zhulinsky who invented this, but Kharkov philologists in 1928, who put that “right-wing idea” into practice thanks to the iron will of the main Ukrainian communist, Comrade Kaganovich. However, life took its toll, and already in 1933 the Ukrainian SSR abandoned these innovations. They remained only in the diaspora, where with their help it was possible to write xenophobic appeals, and then design the next “UPA Hall”. Decent literature has not been published with the help of such a “legal writer” since then.

If these proposals are accepted, then everyone who teaches, studies and manages document flow will have to retrain. Almost all legislation and departmental rule-making will have to be simply rewritten. It will even come to replacing other forms, stamps and seals, not to mention textbooks. And who will pay for it?

So the language reformers have little choice: either for Klimkin with a translation into the Latin alphabet, or for Kaganovich, who has already introduced “pravopys” once.
