Kyiv, February 18 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Debaltsevo has lost its strategic importance. Sergei Galushko, deputy head of the information technology department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated this on TV channel 112.

According to him, the railway junction connecting Donetsk and Lugansk, which provides access to the territory of the Russian Federation, was destroyed.

“During the day, there were five strong assaults on our positions. The situation in the city: partly ours, partly not. The railway junction and 8 hundred carriages are out of action. It has already lost its meaning,” Galushko said.
