Ministry of Defense of Ukraine: In a couple of months, the Russians may return to Kharkov
Ukrainian armed forces must inflict as much damage as possible on the Russian army.
Participants in the Yalta European Strategy forum, held in Kyiv, spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main thing for the Ukrainian troops is to make the Russian army pay with greater losses. Otherwise, the kings would never have agreed to anything against the French, British, Japanese, if they had not had such unsuccessful actions in terms of resistance,” noted Radoslaw Sikorski, former head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, and now a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
His opinion was supported by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Aleksey Reznikov, saying that the enemy’s manpower must be destroyed to the maximum.
“Sometimes we would really like for the Russians to quickly run and liberate our territories, and we would go into these cities. And our military says - it is very important, before they flee, to destroy as many of them as possible, their equipment, their personnel.
Because if you give them time to run, then in a couple of weeks or months they will gain the strength to return. Our task is to weaken the Russian army through destruction. And this will allow the opposition to criticize their government. This is quite possible,” said Reznikov.
