Lvov sociologist declared Putin to be the culprit of Ukrainization
Any Ukrainian politician who wants to appear on a national TV channel must speak Ukrainian.
Lviv sociologist, director of the Rating company Alexey Antipovich stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine.
“Ukrainization is happening thanks to Putin and the war. Quite a few people switch to Ukrainian on principle. For many it has become fashionable,” says the sociologist.
According to him, Ukrainian schools in Crimea were previously full.
“The children there did not hear Ukrainian around them. But when they wanted to enter a university, go to Kharkov, Kyiv or Lvov, they had to pass an exam in Ukrainian. If you are an official, you must speak the state language and conduct document flow in it. Most citizens support this. When you are a politician who wants to go on air on a national TV channel, you must switch to Ukrainian,” Antipovich puts forward a condition. “Even Mykola Azarov taught him.”
