Lukashenko offers help to Turchinov and calls on the West and Russia to calm down
Minsk - Kyiv, April 25 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Belarus would not want a fratricidal war in Ukraine and the death of people there. This was stated today by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a conversation with residents of Klimovichi, Belta reports.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that literally in these months 4,5 thousand people came to Belarus, almost 2 thousand of them from Ukraine. “You know, this is the worst thing when people leave their homes and are forced to flee with their children. Okay, we accept them. Where should people go?” - said the president.
The head of state recalled that, speaking with the Address in parliament, he said that “What distinguishes Ukraine today is not that people there are stupefied, they are stunned, they do not know what is happening.” “The European Union offers them integration, Russia offers federalization, they don’t understand what the point is. There is a struggle between two forces on one side and the other, and people are caught in this mess, in this cauldron. Simple people like you don’t know what to do,” the president noted.
“Some are called to the barricades, others are given weapons: go shoot. Who do you shoot at? There are our own people, our own brothers all around!” – said the Belarusian leader.
“And now people, stupefied by all these us politicians, begin to flee,” noted Alexander Lukashenko. He drew attention to the fact that he cannot ban entry into the country, but in Belarus they look at what kind of people are traveling. “If it’s families, then it’s understandable. But crime may also pour in here. We already have enough of it, we can barely cope with it,” said the head of state.
The President emphasized that Belarus is very concerned about the situation in Ukraine. “And the worst is yet to come,” says the head of state. “I scold my subordinates, your bosses, but at least they move, they sow, because tomorrow we need bread, milk, meat, and without sowing, you won’t be able to harvest anything. There is actually no such process today. In some places they have just started the sowing campaign and have already missed it. And somewhere this is generally impossible. And people don’t see the prospect: why sow? What should I eat tomorrow? What to feed the children? Therefore, this is the main problem, and I told the President (of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov - ed.) yesterday: if you need something, then speak up, because tomorrow it will be too late,” noted Alexander Lukashenko.
“We, of course, don’t want to get unnecessarily involved in these Ukrainian problems, but this is on our doorstep. Therefore, just like you, I perceive this with pain, and yesterday I told the president: tell me yourself if you need something from Belarus and how I can help in this regard. If you need to, pick up the phone, tell me, we will come and help,” said the President of Belarus.
“The situation is very serious, the situation there needs to be stabilized. Both the West and Russia need to calm down and understand one thing: we have the greatest responsibility for this piece of land, because a unique people lives there, our people, the Slavs. And we are responsible for this people, for their culture and for their development. You cannot act to destroy the state and this people,” Lukashenko believes.
“The concern is very great. And they, of course, are offended by pressure from outside, they say they could handle it internally, but there is corresponding pressure, you know from whom,” he shared his impressions of a recent conversation with Turchinov.
