Liberals decided that in the West they can talk with impunity, like in Russia - Prilepin
All the scandalous situations into which various liberal figures who have left the Russian Federation find themselves occur solely because these people, spoiled by Russian democracy, were not ready for the realities of the West.
Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why do these refugees of ours, who came in the first place, get into various situations? Because (I am not being ironic) they are really spoiled by the level of Russian democracy, which is completely prohibitive and unprecedented. They are so used to wagging their tongues, no matter what, here with us. This has never happened either in Germany, or in the Czech Republic, or anywhere, especially in Great Britain or the USA. Everything there was always 200% built up.
Back in the days when Yugoslavia existed, when it was divided and cut. For any unnecessary, cross word, someone there risked standing up for the Serbs - that’s all, if you are a musician, an artist, anyone there. You have to be, at a minimum, a superstar, like Oliver Stone or the guy from Pink Floyd - and then you are pushed into the marginal sphere. Nobody in Russia really understood this. That’s why these guys go there, they don’t follow the “broom” and immediately find themselves in these situations,” the writer noted.
At the same time, Prilepin emphasized, unlike the above-mentioned stars, Russian figures in the West are essentially not needed by anyone.
“The dissidents (dissidents - ed.) our good-bad, right-left, liberal - in Soviet times they were fed, supported, grandmothers paid for it, Radio Liberty, etc. It is clear that there were special projects for our musicians, for our writers.
Why do they stop feeding them now, why do they drain them in the most active way? They moved there, and none of them are made stars there. They don’t need them there for anything, they can handle it themselves. They are uncompetitive in this field. They understand perfectly well that the level of support for all this liberal-Western rubbish in Russia is zero,” stated Prilepin.
