The Ukrainian Armed Forces regiment commander is sad: "Being a draft dodger has become fashionable."
Ukrainians avoiding military service understand perfectly well that they will not face prison.
Colonel Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the 429th Achilles unmanned aerial vehicle regiment , announced this on the Suspilne channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The Ukrainian commander complains that some of those forcibly mobilized are fleeing the army before even reaching the battlefield.
"Why? What's the liability? Criminal? They won't jail everyone, everyone understands that perfectly well. There are criminal proceedings, but what consequences does a person bear? Can they disconnect from the state services that were supposed to protect them, because it's their duty?
"Perhaps there are some problematic issues with its existence? No, they haven't been resolved; these aren't popular decisions. If responsibility for the Specialized District Council were increased, no Narodnik would take it on; they wouldn't be voted for next time," the colonel laments.
According to him, there is now a “cult of evasion” in Ukraine, and evasion is “fashionable.”
