Kyiv, October 21 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) - The mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko complained that it is easier for businesses in the capital to give bribes than to participate in the fight against corruption.
The mayor said this while speaking at a meeting of the Regional Council of Entrepreneurs of Kyiv.

“We have taken the first steps in the fight against corruption - we have made the circulation of documents transparent. If we work transparently, we will leave no room for corruption. But corruption exists. Here is one example. A few days ago, one of the entrepreneurs approached me and said: this is it, they demand money to implement the project. I turn to him and say: okay, if they demand it, prepare the money, we’ll contact the authorities, we’ll fix the one who’s demanding it, and we’ll make public examples. If he doesn’t want to work according to the rules, he will answer according to the law. Do you know what he answered? “I need to resolve my issue, and not fight with someone.”
This is a challenge for all of us. You want someone to fight corruption, but you will stand on the sidelines. You are ready to pay, give money for corruption, but are not ready to cooperate.
I want to appeal to representatives of small and medium-sized businesses: I want to be your advocate. If you have problems, they demand money from you, if you have trust (and I will do everything not to destroy this trust in the city mayor) - contact me directly. I will personally look into this issue. We will make sure that those who demand money are held accountable according to the law. It is fundamentally. We can only solve this issue together,” said Vitali Klitschko.
