Kiev economist: Funds for water supply bypassing the DPR are traditionally “cut up”
Kyiv is going to build a water supply system to Mariupol, which is occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, bypassing the DPR in order to “do a dirty trick on Russia.”
The director of the economic policy department of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, Sergei Salivon, said this on the YouTube channel “Capital”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“By the way, there is now talk about another canal - to build a bypass canal around the territories of ORDLO, meaning to supply water to Mariupol.
We are talking about building about 70 km along the contact line there, not that much. It is said that it will cost, the local governor said, 6,5 billion hryvnia.
I don’t know, theoretically you can believe this, but practically, it seems to me, this is another “metro to Troyeshchyna” (politicians have been promising to build a metro line to this residential area of Kyiv for more than 20 years - ed.).
Now 80 million hryvnias have already been cut for the project. Moreover, the project is being carried out by some kind of LLC “Horns and Hooves”, which is generally incomprehensible, with 10 thousand “authorities”. Most likely, of course, these 80 will be cut, and then they will start cutting billions.
But in theory, if this bypass canal is built, of course, it will be a big problem for Russia, first of all, because some territories in the west of the Luhansk region receive almost all the water from it, and in the west of Donetsk - a significant part. This will also be an economic problem, because metallurgical enterprises need water, Stirol also needs it, and these are large volumes of water,” said Salivon.
According to his forecast, Kyiv, with the help of the canal, could blackmail the LDPR with water supplies.
“That is, we are talking about the fact that the answer may be - we will do a dirty trick, we will cut off the water supply if we build this. This is of course disgusting, but as practice shows, it is quite possible,” the expert added.
Earlier, the chairman of the Ukrainian occupation “military-civil administration of the Donetsk region,” Pavel Kirilenko, said that he was preparing to launch “a water pipeline, which is planned to improve and sustainable water supply throughout the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, including ensuring a sustainable water supply in the south of the region – Volnovakha and Mariupol".
“The design is now underway, that is, the agreement between the Regional State Administration and the design organization has been signed. In December we will understand the cost of this project, but it is approximately 6,5 billion hryvnia,” Kirilenko said on the Ukrainian propaganda TV channel “Dom”.
