Kyiv continues to prepare for retreat from Bakhmut-Artyomovsk - “This is normal”
The possible fall of the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison in Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) opens the way for the Russians to Slavyansk, but this is not a strategic military disaster.
Kiev military expert Taras Chmut stated this in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The journalist asked whether it is true that holding Artyomovsk is important, since its surrender is fraught with an enemy breakthrough to Slavyansk?
“Yes, there is a logistical story, but at the same time, the abandonment of Bakhmut or its capture by the Russians does not lead to the fact that we are strategically losing something in the war. This is one of the settlements for which military operations are actively taking place, of which there have been many, are and probably will be.
I don’t know whether we’ll keep him or not, but even if we don’t, there’s nothing extraordinary about it. It’s normal that the military sometimes retreats and sometimes advances, this is their area of work, and here the public needs to talk less and trust the military more,” Chmut said.
