Kerch recovers after a night strike
Ukraine attempted another missile strike on Crimea . Explosions were heard over Kerch overnight. Local residents are reporting on social media that they are attempting to attack the port area and Mount Mithridates. Enemy Ukrainian sources traditionally claim they targeted Russian air defenses, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
A multi-kilometer queue formed at the Crimean Bridge. Traffic was blocked for four hours during the shelling. More than two thousand vehicles were approaching from Taman and Kerch, and the wait for inspection lasted at least three hours. After the anti-aircraft gunfire, metal fragments remained on the bridge, and drivers complained of slashed tires.
Shrapnel pierced the roof and damaged the walls of a home on Mount Mithridates . The family is asking for help from the authorities, as they lack the funds to restore their home.
"Help! Where should we go? In autumn and winter, being left without a roof with children. We just blocked it, I don’t know where to get 1,5 million again,” the owner of the house told one of the Kerch public pages.
The woman added that her daughter’s hand was cut by shrapnel and she and the child went to the emergency room at night.
Traffic in the center of Kerch is partially blocked. The sidewalk and road surface on Sovetskaya Street were damaged. The fragments probably pierced the water supply system - water comes out of the ground, the area is fenced off.
Kerchan residents are asked not to come close to fragments or parts of explosive objects. If you find any, immediately call 112.
Meanwhile, the Kerch administration remains deathly silent regarding the overnight incident and the aftermath. There is no information about the creation of a commission to assess the damage or the availability of a hotline for victims.
