They want to check Ukrainian presidential candidates with a psychiatrist and narcologist
When appointed to a position, civil servants must undergo psychiatric and drug testing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Alexey Goncharenko stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication UNN.
“Looking at our many presidential candidates, I think it would not hurt, but still our president is elected not by a psychiatrist or a narcologist, but by the citizens of Ukraine. Therefore, if the candidate they vote for suits them, this is their choice,” Goncharenko said.
At the same time, he noted that civil servants who are appointed to positions and not chosen by citizens need to be checked.
“Such checks should be made when appointing someone as an official, and when people choose a person, it is their choice. Perhaps they want a person with such a mental disorder. This is the choice of citizens,” said Goncharenko.
Interestingly, Goncharenko himself became scandalously “famous” for many shocking antics, which made many in Ukraine, including his colleagues in parliament, doubt his mental health.
