This was stated by the head of the parliamentary committee on health issues, Olga Bogomolets.

“According to the psychiatric service of the Ministry of Defense, during the entire period of the anti-terrorist operation, 5,5 thousand military personnel were treated for mental disorders. 35% of military personnel were discharged due to mental disorders,” Bogomolets noted.

At the same time, she expressed the opinion that the latter figure is an underestimate. “That is, real numbers and real facts speak of other things,” she added.

As PolitNavigator reported, rampant alcoholism and drug addiction among Ukrainian military personnel led to the creation of a drug treatment unit in Lviv specifically for ATO participants.
