Google in Russia behaves like a malicious repeat offender
Google LLC paid a fine of 3 million rubles for failure to comply with the requirements of Russian legislation to protect citizens from harmful content. This is the third fine that the company has paid for the same violation.
Roskomnadzor announced this on its official website, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

In 2019, an administrative case was opened against Google for failure to remove prohibited content from search results (the fine amounted to 700 thousand rubles, the fine was paid).
Monitoring conducted by Roskomnadzor recorded that the company complies with the requirements of Russian legislation only partially. This became the basis for initiating proceedings for repeated commission of an administrative offense. On May 25, 2020, the court fined Google 1,5 million rubles (the fine was paid).
Further monitoring revealed that about 30% of links to content prohibited in Russia remain in search results. The trial took place on December 17, 2020. The magistrate of court district No. 422 of the Tagansky judicial district of Moscow imposed a fine of 3 million rubles on the company.
