It is noted that the country’s revenue from the export of scrap metal over 4 months increased by 39% - to $101 million, which is 0,8% of all Ukrainian exports for the specified period.

The lion's share of exports comes from Turkey - more than 90,3% of revenue, as well as from Moldova - 8,9%. Türkiye is one of the largest steel producers in the world. At the same time, imports of scrap for 4 months for melting on the territory of Ukraine decreased by almost 23 times.

Metal production in Ukraine decreased by a third and the country fell in the ranking of global producers of this product. Whether the increase in scrap metal exports, as well as the estimated increase in its procurement for 2015, is related to the war, damage to the armored vehicles of the Kyiv forces or other military destruction is not specified.
