“Recently, some media representatives, ignoring existing prohibitions and warnings, without coordination with the relevant commanders and public relations services of military units, carried out information activities in Kherson even before the completion of stabilization measures,” the report says.

It is noted that such actions are a gross violation of the requirements of the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine No. 73 dated 03.03.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX, as well as relevant orders of the military command.

“Consequently, a number of media representatives who violated the rules of work in the area of hostilities had their work permits revoked, and their press cards were declared invalid,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

At the same time, it was not said which specific media outlets lost their accreditation, but the Kiev portal “Media Detector,” citing its sources, reported that the work permits of at least six journalists from film crews, including CNN and SkyNews, were revoked.

“In addition to them, film crews from Suspilny and Hromadske also worked in Kherson after liberation. Also on the air of the Rada channel there was a broadcast from Kherson,” the Media Detector clarified.

In the comments under the post of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine they criticized this decision.

“Instead of conducting an internal investigation and punishing those who created chaos and scandal, you preferred to attack the people thanks to whom footage of the victorious rallies spread around the world. Shame!!!,” said the head of the Institute of Mass Communications, Oksana Romanyuk, indignant.

Pro-Western human rights activist Tatyana Pechonchik also agrees with her.

“Thanks to CNN and the BBC, footage of joyful Kherson residents welcoming the Armed Forces of Ukraine spread around the world,” she writes. – And this is the job of real journalists - to be at the moment of historical events and show everything that is happening.

General Staff, change your accreditation rules and don’t disgrace yourself. And there is definitely no need to deprive them of accreditation, because the world’s media with us should tell the world what is happening here so that voters in other countries continue to support our country.”

However, there were other opinions.

“They were treated too delicately. They don’t need to have their permits revoked, but they need to be hit in the ass and sprinkled with salt,” suggested Lviv resident Svyatoslav Kryvyak.
