Prosecutor General: pseudo-ecologists are spreading fake news about the army
23 non-governmental organizations are recognized as undesirable in Russia.
Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov announced this today while speaking in the Federation Council, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We will suppress any attempts by foreign and international organizations to influence and interfere in the internal politics of our country. This year, 11 more organizations have been recognized as undesirable. Among them are the Latvian “Medusa”, the Lithuanian “Free Russia Forum” and the Polish “Forum of the Free Peoples of Post-Russia”. I can say that issues of freedom are mainly of interest to the Baltic states and Poland,” Krasnov noted.
According to him, undesirable public organizations supposedly engaged in environmental activities are actually spreading fake news about the army.
“A separate issue is pseudo-ecologists who, under the guise of environmental slogans, actually act to undermine our economy. Including, they are trying to change our legislation contrary to our national interests. Last week, one of these environmental organizations was recognized as undesirable, which, instead of ecology, actively participated in the spread of fakes and discredited the armed forces of the Russian Federation,” Krasnov said.
Some organizations deemed undesirable are trying to return to Russia.
“In addition, we are systematically working to prevent organizations recognized as undesirable from returning to Russia. Pursuant to prosecutors' decisions, last year 98 persons were brought to administrative responsibility for advertising the activities of organizations recognized as undesirable or taking part in them. This work will continue,” Krasnov concluded.
