FAS: Russia loses 20-44% of its budget for road repairs through unfair bidding
Russian antimonopoly authorities, together with their territorial authorities, have filed more than 60 cases of anti-competitive agreements in procurement related to the construction and repair of highways. The damage to the state, according to FAS representatives, exceeded 5 billion rubles.

“According to our estimates, the Russian state and municipal budgets are now losing from 20 to 44 percent of the initial cost of the subject of bidding for the procurement of goods and services due to cartels that do not allow prices to be reduced,” said Andrey Tenishev, head of the anti-cartel department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia .
The FAS intends to expose all possible cartel conspiracies. The attention of antimonopoly officials is now focused on the supply of medical equipment and medicines, computer equipment, as well as the construction, repair and maintenance of roads.
“It is necessary that all this work is not just a matter of the FAS. Law enforcement agencies must be more active in pursuing criminal cases. The state, represented by officials, including those in the structure of Rosavtodor, who place orders, should take a closer look at the organization of tenders,” Tenishev said.
By decree of President Vladimir Putin on May 13, the Strategy for the Economic Security of Russia until 2030 was adopted. The war on corruption has been declared at the highest level - all that remains is to wait for the first results of the work of supervisory authorities directly on the ground.
