The restoration of Chasov Yar, which suffered colossal destruction as a result of military action, makes sense, at least for reasons of water supply to Donbass.
The head of the Department of Cultural Studies at DonSU, expert of the Izborsk Club Dmitry Muza, told the former speaker of the DPR army Eduard Basurin about this on air at the KP Novorossiya radio station, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Chasov Yar was a command post, a kind of logistics hub, and a place for reconnaissance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And it is obvious that this city (already the 46th liberated by the Russian Armed Forces) is a gateway to the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. Moreover, it is just a little bit further to Konstantinovka on the eastern side, and this is also a powerful fortified area and an industrial center in the past," Muza said.
Basurin agreed that this was a strategic height from which Russian artillery could now finish off Konstantinovka and Kramatorsk with special shells.
"The residents, of course, left the city. There were attempts to take them to the territory of Ukraine, but conscientious people moved in another direction. I think that if the project of the channel "Seversky Donetsk - Donbass" is revived, and it passes nearby, then it is certainly expedient. Because to recreate the entire infrastructure is a huge job," the expert noted.
