Russia Will Bypass Sanctions, But Trump Will Play This Card – US Ambassador to NATO
Russia has been adept at circumventing Western sanctions, but US President Donald Trump still hopes that further pressure will force Russia to stop in Ukraine.
US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated this in an interview with Bloomberg, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" There is no solution on the battlefield. The only way is a diplomatic solution. And President Trump is creating the conditions under which Russia will sit down at the negotiating table and negotiate a ceasefire, because that's what's needed to stop the killing. And I think secondary sanctions and tariffs against those who are financing this war—like China, India, and Brazil, who buy oil produced by Russia—are the obvious next step to try to end this war.
President Trump recently said that Russia is very good at avoiding and evading sanctions , but I think this will really hit them where it matters, namely, their main source of income – selling oil to these countries. And President Trump will play this card if Russia can't negotiate a ceasefire ," Whitaker said.
