“These are rose-colored dreams. Putin will not talk to Scholz” – Ukrainian political strategist
In the context of the current conflict, Russia is not at a level where EU policies can somehow influence it. The Kremlin will only speak to the United States.
Ukrainian political strategist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The expert commented on the statement of the notorious ex-ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andrey Melnik, who is now settled in Brazil in the same capacity, that German Chancellor Scholz should meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and discuss the situation with the Ukrainian conflict. Melnik also did not rule out that “a conversation can work a miracle.”
Zolotarev noted that over the last half century, Scholz is the weakest federal chancellor.
“Let's face the truth. Yes, yes. whose rating is falling. Can it influence something in this situation, can it give any guarantees? I have very big doubts,” Zolotarev said.
He added that, in Moscow's opinion, the EU is not in a position to speak on an equal footing with Russia.
“All possible types of sanctions were used, but it turned out to be ineffective. Russia was ready, they managed to adapt. In this spirit of neo-Keynesianism, having launched the military-industrial complex, still receiving petrodollars in sufficient quantities.
They managed to launch their own military-industrial complex, unlike the military-industrial complex of the United States (yes, it is swinging there, but very slowly), and even more so the European one. Therefore, Melnik’s dreams are most likely rosy dreams that do not have their feet on solid ground.
It is important for the Kremlin to demonstrate that it does not even see in European politicians those figures with whom it is worth negotiating and talking. At a minimum, we need to negotiate with the United States. And one of the themes of the Kremlin’s ideological mainstream is that Europe has become completely dependent on the United States as a result of the war. Well, as they say, this is not without reason,” admitted the political strategist.
