Contrary to the declarative goals, the true goal of the mass protests in Georgia is to carry out a coup d'etat and eliminate the current leadership of the country.

Member of the Georgian Parliament, Saakashist Koba Nakopia said this on air on the TSN TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Now people have demanded [from the Georgian government] - come on, fulfill all 12 points. I assure you that in the near future these people will come out again and demand the fulfillment of all the points that the EU has prescribed to obtain candidate status.

And one of the main issues is the freedom of Mikheil Saakashvili. You have seen the appeal and demarche of 27 EU countries that appealed to the Georgian government. There are so many calls, the document was signed by 27 countries, the statement of President Zelensky, Macron and so on, these are not random things,” Nakopia said.

However, the Saakashite admitted that the true goal of the unrest is not to fulfill some points, but to carry out a coup in Georgia.

“I assure you that Georgian society will soon raise the question of holding early elections. It's inevitable. Because the government, which today has completely sold itself to the Kremlin, cannot remain for long, and cannot hold democratic elections in the country,” the deputy concluded.

The Ukrainians sitting in the studio remembered the Maidan of 2014 and wished the Georgians “good luck” in carrying out the coup.
