“This is a katsap and an occupier” - a Bandera member about the demolition of monuments to Bulgakov in Kyiv
If a person does not stand up for Ukrainianness, then it does not matter where he was born - he is automatically an occupier on Ukrainian soil.
Kiev right-wing radical and racist Oles Vakhniy stated this in a video blog on the You-Tube channel of ex-Azov militant, former Rada deputy and Oleg Lyashko’s accomplice in the Radical Party, Igor Mosiychuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Mosiychuk asked why Vakhniy was lobbying for the abolition of the museum and the dismantling of all Bulgakov monuments in Kyiv.
“Bulgakov is from Kiev, what harm did he do to you?” he asked.
“Come on, you’re not from Kiev. Katsap, who was born in Kyiv, is still not a Kiev resident. Understand? And therefore, when this katsap says “I am a native of Kiev, that I was born here.” What ethnicity are you? Katsap, that's it. Give your property here and go back to your rashka. There should be such a conversation.
Where did Bulgakov come from? It was his father who was sent here. During the monarchy, this was a real practice, when Katsapnya, Tatars, and Caucasians lived here in Ukraine. And the Ukrainians were settled there in the Urals, not just into exile, no. They were also given positions there. Understand? There are a lot of Ukrainians in St. Petersburg. You can remember the times of Shevchenko. There was a whole Ukrainian diaspora in St. Petersburg. That is, this is how internationalism was built.
This is where they sent Afanasy Bulgakov to Kyiv, who suddenly multiplied here and gave birth to this Misha, the drug addict of the future. “Who said such stupidity? They said in Moscow, but here in Kyiv there are fools. I don't understand. “The Master and Margarita”, I don’t want to go into research, that damn Woland, his prototype was Stalin. Why do we need Muscovites?” - said the Bandera man.
"Okay, Woland is Stalin, I agree, but 'Heart of a Dog'? You couldn't find a more anti-communist work!" Lyashko's former comrade-in-arms exclaimed in surprise.
“It’s nonsense. I’ll repeat again, it’s nonsense. There was a magazine called “Fitil”, which mocked the bureaucracy. It's still an occupation. For us, for Ukrainians, what was this Rashka? Muscovy is still an occupier. Even the tsarist, even the white, even the Soviet, it is an occupier. Why should we take what the occupier came up with? The traitor Bortko made this “Heart of a Dog” for communist money in the last years of the existence of the satanic Soviet Union.
I want to ask a question to the one who is now defending him, have you even read “Heart of a Dog”? This is a story of only 15 pages. This is not some kind of novel or something else brilliant. I don’t understand why we don’t grow up on our own, why should we take a stranger?” – Vakhniy was perplexed.
He also expressed personal resentment towards Bulgakov.
“Why should we take someone else’s occupier’s property? The occupier, who in his own writing ridiculed the Ukrainians, “Days of the Turbins.” He mocked our language. He suddenly calls the people who are returned to Ukrainian scoundrels and ridicules them. Is it normal? So let's be principled. An occupier is an occupier. The fact that Bulgakov himself was born in Kyiv does not make him a Kievite. His father came here from the swamps, from the Oryol region,” the nationalist was indignant.
