The expert explained the essence of the scam with Ukrainian land
The so-called open market for Ukrainian land is designed in such a way that citizens themselves will transfer their land to transnational companies for next to nothing.
Kiev economic expert Anatoly Peshko stated this on the KRT TV channel, answering a question about the prospects of people who own land plots, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The minimum assessed value of land will be increased and set at about 10-20 thousand dollars per hectare. “This is a benefit for ordinary citizens, and they will rejoice at this, not understanding what will follow,” the expert said.
“Since the price of land rises 10-20 times, the 3 percent of the rent cost rises accordingly in absolute terms. That is, the rent will no longer be somewhere around 250-300 dollars per hectare, it will already be 1200 dollars. Show me at least one agricultural enterprise in Ukraine that has a profitability higher than at least $300, I very much doubt that there are any of these today.
One increase in the cost of land immediately in absolute terms with the same three percent of the cadastral value of the land, which is laid down in the lease law; it is clearly stated there that the rental rate cannot be less than three percent of the cadastral value of the land. Accordingly, the rental price will increase 20 times,” Peshko noted.
The next stage, the expert said, is that the land tax will also rise twentyfold.
“That is, a stalemate arises for people: those who do not want to sell the land will be forced to do so, because tenants will no longer want to lease this land, they will physically not be able to cultivate it, because this activity will be unprofitable, and private persons who own land will not be able to retain the land because the land tax payment will be so high that their income will not be able to retain this land. Then the land will be given to banks as collateral,” the economist added.
Further, according to him, ordinary people will simply “eat up” their land.
“The final beneficiary of Ukrainian land, through various banks of Ukraine, will be foreign banks, and through them transnational companies, or rather, their owners, who are part of the financial elite of the whole world,” Peshko concluded.
