Ex-NATO commander warns of 'inevitable Russian attack'
Washington – Kiev, April 08 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – Retired General Wesley Clark is once again frightening Ukraine with an “inevitable Russian offensive,” which he believes will take place between Easter and Victory Day, Business Insider reports.

“A new Russian offensive in Ukraine is likely within a month,” Wesley Clark warned in an exclusive briefing at the Atlantic Council.
“Ukrainian forces expect an attack within the next sixty days,” Clark told the Atlantic Council. “This assessment is based on geographic imperatives, an analysis of Russian actions, statements and Putin’s psychology to date.”
The purpose of the attack is the highly publicized creation of a land corridor to Crimea, which first appeared in the press a year ago from Clark’s colleagues. Let us remind you that in the last few months NATO has significantly strengthened its military contingent in 6 countries of Eastern Europe, members of the alliance. The bloc also sharply increased the number of military exercises near the borders with Russia, explaining this by “aggressive actions of the Kremlin.”
In a candid interview with the BBC, Clarke said that "the separatists were preparing to attack Mariupol in early March, despite signing a ceasefire agreement in February."
Moreover, Clark is sure, this attack has the main goal of destroying Europe.
“[Putin’s] goal in this will be much broader than Ukraine,” the former NATO commander said. “This should destroy the sense of well-being and trust between the peoples of Eastern Europe in the area of NATO defense and, ideally, drive a permanent wedge between the United States and its European allies, between Western allies and Eastern Europe,” Clark said.
