This opinion was expressed in a comment to PolitNavigator by the director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky.
“These primaries have several tasks,” the political scientist noted. – Firstly, the DPR did not have the opportunity to publicly demonstrate to foreign guests how they organize the election campaign and that they are able to do this at a good European level. I think this task can be easily accomplished. Secondly, the value hierarchy of attitudes that work there, in the DPR and LPR, will be demonstrated, that is, who receives public support, people with what orientation, what political position.”
“The primaries are also important in order to show that there is a procedure and among the people who decided to participate in this, there is a choice that made it possible to say which position is more supported. Finally, it is important for the residents themselves to understand what and who has a political perspective, and who to rely on.
I think that during these primaries, at least these three tasks can be realized,” the expert concluded.
