Over the course of a year, the Northern Military District of the Russian Federation has formed troops with the necessary experience and a large reserve, but the numbers still remain comparable to the enemy’s armed forces, and an offensive requires superiority several times over.

Vladimir Orlov, a member of the General Council of the Party of Dela, coordinator of the Veche International Public Organization, and military expert, stated this on air on Roy TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The units are studying, the personnel who came, including with mobilization, received the necessary combat experience. Those mobilized office clerks have already become soldiers.

And now we can say that the Russian Federation has about 500 thousand ground forces that have undergone full training, combat coordination, they have gone through combat operations, they have gained invaluable experience.

And if any decisions are made on further steps to conduct the Northern Military District in terms of offensive, in terms of moving forward, recapturing those territories that we lost as a result of “difficult decisions” on transactions, “regroupings”, etc. , let’s not point a finger, then this backbone of our ground forces can become the organizational structure that can handle this whole thing,” Orlov said.

However, he admitted that there was no strength to advance.

"Right now, our forces are roughly comparable to those of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. If we roughly estimate what the Ukrainian Armed Forces have and what we have along the front line, including the reserves Vladimir Putin mentioned, 150 ground forces. That is, our forces are roughly comparable there. And as we know, launching an offensive requires large battalions ["...and a three-fold superiority," noted publicist Maxim Kalashnikov ]—yes, large battalions, which neither the Ukrainian Armed Forces nor we currently have," the military expert said.
