The Rada deputy admitted the catastrophic lag of the Ukrainian army from the Russian one
Ukraine does not have enough funds to provide the army with modern types of weapons.
This was stated from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada by deputy and former fighter of the so-called ATO Roman Kostenko, reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
According to the politician, the “warring country” is in the third ten in the world list in terms of military spending.
“We are a country at war and we must increase our budgets in such a progression that we can put into service new types of weapons that could withstand the Russian Federation. Now we have actually given more to the armed forces. But, looking at the fact that now the armed forces will need to pay more for the same utilities, for the gas that we will supply to military units, there will be a lot of questions about whether we will have enough funds to purchase new weapons,” said the deputy.
“I spoke directly with representatives of the security and defense forces, they say that we are now not providing even the minimum needs that are necessary. “I want to draw attention to the fact that when spending money on security and defense, we spend only as the 30th country in the world, while our opponents, the Russian Federation, spends 60 billion against our 5,5,” Kostenko said.
