The United States may transfer tactical nuclear weapons to Ukraine.
Political scientist Sergei Markov stated this on air at the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They believe that we will again conclude Minsk-3, they will again not implement them and during this time they will rearm the Ukrainian army even stronger. They believe that as long as Ukraine is not sufficiently armed, it cannot defeat Russia. They will give the F-16, it may even come to tactical nuclear weapons. Why not? Moreover, F-16s are carriers of tactical nuclear weapons. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will strike at the areas where the Russian army is located,” Markov said.
He doubts that even in this case Russia will respond symmetrically.
“Oh, come on. The Americans blew up the Nord Stream, and we are blowing up something? The Americans carry out terrorist attacks on our territory (because there are no independent Ukrainian intelligence services), and we respond? The Americans handed over cluster shells to the Ukrainian army, they have been covering us for three months, and we are responding?” Markov said.
In his opinion, even if the parties exchange nuclear strikes, this will not lead to a resolution of the conflict. Another peace agreement will be imposed on Russia, while the tasks of the Northern Military District will not be solved.
“They think quite logically that if someone makes the same mistake three times, then that mistake has serious fundamental flaws. This is already a trend, and it will continue if the situation does not change,” Markov said.
