The possibility of repeating a provocation with a Russian fishing vessel in the Sea of Azov, similar to the incident with the Nord, has been minimized for Ukraine. Candidate of political sciences, retired captain of the first rank Sergei Gorbachev told PolitNavigator about this.
“After the incident with Nord, effective measures were taken by our border guards. Relevant instructions were given to fishermen. The possibility of a repetition of such a provocation on the part of Ukraine is minimized. Moreover, now the fishing time is unfavorable, and after the elections in Ukraine, a lot can change,” Gorbachev said.
At the same time, according to him, there was no strengthening of the group in the Azov region.
“Distances do not require our presence. Everything is under control, and this case will not affect it,” the expert said.
Gorbachev doubts that Ukraine will be able to sell the captured seiner Nord.
“Ukraine tried to sell three or four times. They will be recycled. These are pirate steps. I think no one will risk purchasing this ship, especially going to sea on it under the flag of Ukraine. This could end sadly. Sailors are superstitious. This is a bad omen,” Gorbachev said.
