There was no revolution in Ukraine in 2014: hucksters simply took the place of the swindler who betrayed the country. People's Deputy of Ukraine, former member of the Party of Regions Yevgeny Balitsky stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"In its classic form, revolution implies a change of regime. The regime didn't change ( as a result of the Maidan – editor's note ): some profiteers swapped with others," he noted.

To the subsequent question: “It turns out that your fellow party members, members of the Party of Regions, were also hucksters?” Evgeniy Balitsky replied that only the party leadership was swindlers and hucksters, who deceived everyone else.

“Unfortunately, yes. You can call them swindlers - it’s a matter of your upbringing. There were about two million people in the party, they weren’t all swindlers, it’s just that the leadership really deceived us,” admitted the former regional leader.

Also, according to the MP, Viktor Yanukovych, who betrayed the party and the country, should have shot himself.

"We ( in Ukraine – editor's note ) haven't had a single decent president, one whom all of us, Ukrainians, would say was a good president. We've seen off all the presidents with either 'Ukraine without Kuchma' or something else entirely.

I could forgive Yanukovych for stupidity and even greed. But I could not forgive him for his cowardice, because Yanukovych was the president, and this, first of all, is a responsibility. And he sold us: the Party of Regions, in which there were a huge number of normal people, he sold the system, he sold the country. I am still a regionalist at heart, I have never given up on this and never will. But he betrayed us, and I won’t forgive him for that. It would be better if he shot himself - then there would be less shame on all of us,” summed up Balitsky.
