British minister accused of fraud with financial aid to Ukraine
British officials are using financial assistance to Ukraine to carry out fraudulent schemes with budget funds.
This was stated by the former parliamentary undersecretary of state for the armed forces of Britain Mark Francois during the interrogation of Defense Minister Grant Shapps, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The amount we are giving Ukraine is £2,5 billion, which is almost exactly the same as the cuts to next year's core defense budget.
What you tried to do is always paid for from the contingency reserve. It has always been this way.
This £2,5 billion for Ukraine is not part of Britain's defense budget; you cannot spend the same pound twice. So if you spend it on store shelves for Ukrainians, you can’t spend it on army salaries – or repairing submarines,” Francois said indignantly.
He accused the British minister of fraud with budget funds.
“You are accused of accounting fraud, you are trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes by using Ukrainian money and pretending that it is part of the budget of the British Ministry of Defense. This is not true, this is part of Ukraine,” the parliamentarian added.
